The cortege for Helen will leave Charlton on Wednesday 24 February shortly after 11.30am and will pass through Fladbury on the way to the Vale Crematorium for a private service.

The service is being live-streamed. FLADBURY PARISH COUNCIL

Litter Picking

As you may recall, on occasions communal litter picking sessions have been held in the Spring in past years. However, these are not allowed or encouraged at the moment. In their place, Wychavon have introduced a scheme whereby individuals can adopt a street or an area to look after in this respect. WDC supply the equipment and bags; how it all works and how to sign up can be found at https://www.wychavon.gov.uk/waste-and-recycling/street-care-and-cleaning/adopt-a-street

Major Works Ahead

Early warning of two engineering projects that will have varying impacts on Fladbury and neighbouring villages.

1. The Coal Wharf. The area next to Fladbury Mill nearer the village will be used by the Environment Agency for a project to remove the old sluice. Exactly when this will take place and the duration are uncertain at the moment but the Parish Council are in discussion with EA on the matter.

2. Railway Bridge over the Avon. Major work on this structure is scheduled and the Parish Councils of Fladbury, Charlton and Cropthorne are seeking an urgent meeting with Network Rail to better understand the impact, implications and mitigation measures to be deployed. As more details become available we will pass these on

Thank you everyone who bought our Marmalade. All sold and no more Seville oranges this year.  We banked £100 for Alzheimer’s Research which is fantastic!

PERSHORE FOODBANK

·         Donations from Charlton – Jane Way’s initiative to collect donations from Charlton residents last Christmas was a great success. However, a food bank is not just for Christmas and with the impact of Covid, the need for help is greater than ever. So, together we would now like to set up arrangements for donations from Charlton to continue.

From Wednesday 17th February Charlton Church porch will be open each day from 10.00am to 4.00 pm and a box will be available inside to receive donations. Please give generously all non-perishable food items eg cereals, tinned foods and soups, tea/coffee, sugar, biscuits, pasta, rice, UHT milk, instant mash, together with basic toiletries. On entering the porch, please do ensure you adhere to Government Covid guidelines and general safety.

If everyone were to regularly donate at least one item it would be a great help.

Thank you for your generosity – Julian Hawley 860420

·         Fladbury Church Porch – donations are welcome and are collected frequently for delivery to the foodbank – Carol Rosier 554410

FACEBOOK

I know several people, of my age and younger, don’t belong to facebook, for one reason and another, but would be interested in some things on it. I imagine the same goes for KIT – some people don’t read it but they may be missing something! f you are wanting to tell people of Fladbury something, please don’t forget some people read facebook, some people read KIT and some people read both! And one or two people print off  the KIT notices to give to people who don’t do computers or social media.

CHAIR YOGA

I’m trying to gauge how much interest there would be for a chair Yoga, Zoom Yoga session – initially at this stage, a one-off session with a view to more, depending on interest. There is so much you can still do from a chair which can be extremely beneficial to someone who has reduced mobility. At a time when it’s even more difficult to get out and exercise it will be useful but also an opportunity for those who perhaps aren’t able to see others at the mo, a friendly group to join while having a nice stretch. Please do contact me if you are interested
