Worcestershire County Council has produced a document headed “Evesham Local Walking and cycling infrastructure plan”
which can be downloaded via the link below:
Of interest to Charlton residents is the plan for a new cycling / walking route between Pershore and Evesham, but this is categorised as a 3 – 7 years project.
Also of interest is the proposal for a new pedestrian and cycling bridge in Hampton, which will cross the River Avon and improve access from the South of Evesham to the town centre.
The council said the bridge would also help tackle congestion problems in Evesham, improve journey times and improve air quality by providing an alternative to driving for short journeys.Worcestershire County Council is holding a pre-planning public engagement exercise on this proposals until 20th December 2021. Two drop-in events are being held in Evesham where residents can view the plans. An event will be held at Evesham Town Hall between 5pm and 7pm on Tuesday November 16th ahead of a second session at Hampton Guide and Scout Community Hall in Pershore Road between 2.30pm and 5pm on Friday November 19th.
